Stephen Wolfram is one of the greatest mathematical and entrepreneurial minds of our generation (creator of Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha, among other things).
I didn't know he was trying to postulate a computational basis for the whole universe, based on graph networks and cellular automata. He already derived Einstein equations (special relativity and general relativity) from his model.
